ZTT Picks Borealis HVDC Tech for Chinese Offshore Wind Project

ZTT International has selected Borealis to provide HVDC insulation and semi-conductor technology for the Rudong Jiangsu offshore wind project in China.

Borealis will provide its Borlink LS4258DCE insulation compound and LE0550DC semiconductor for the cables that will be able to transport 400kV of energy over a distance of circa 100km from the 1,100MW project.

The Abu-Dhabi based Borouge is also involved in the project.

The Rudong offshore wind farm HVDC demonstration project is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province on the northern edge of the Yangtze River Delta.

The project comprises three wind farms, which are owned by China General Nuclear Power Corp (CGN) Nantong Ltd and China Three Gorges (CTG) New Energy Corp Nantong and Rudong Ltd.

Rongxin Huiko Electric (RXHK) will provide a set of converter valves for the onshore converter station of the Rudong project.
