High Speed Transfers (HST) has taken delivery of HST Euan, its fourth FCS 2710 class fast crew supply vessel, from Damen Shipyards.

HST Euan was loaded onto a heavy-lift vessel at Damen Shipyards Antalya in Turkey in mid-January bound for Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

To remind, Damen floated out the vessel at the beginning of November 2019 and a month later it carried out its sea trials.

HST Euan, and its sister HST Harri, will be deployed on the Northwester 2 offshore wind project in Belgium under a contract with MHI Vestas.

“2019 was very much a year of growth and we are carrying that momentum forward into 2020. We are in discussions with Damen regarding not only additional crew transfer vessels but also multi-purpose vessels such as Multi Cats,” said Tom Nevin, CEO of HST.

“This would be a degree of diversification for us, opening up activities such as cable laying and maintenance, trench support and marine civil engineering using the larger, DP2 Multi Cats for maximum versatility. This would allow us to offer a broader range of services to our clients.”

Damen unveiled the FCS 2710 class in May 2018. The vessels are capable of carrying 26 passengers and are able to operate in wave heights of more than 2m due to an extra meter of freeboard.

The first FCS 2710, HST Hudson, was named in July 2018, while the second vessel, HST Sofia, was launched in March 2019.
