Wind Farm Update

Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) has signed a contract with Siemens Gamesa to provide temporary power provision during the turbine commissioning phase at the SeaMade offshore wind farm.

“Following several successful European temporary power provision projects over the recent past, we are looking forward to once again working with Siemens Gamesa; it’s a combination that works,” MRE Business Director Toby Mead said.

The installation of the turbines is expected to start mid-June and the wind farm is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

Located some 50 kilometres off the Belgian North Sea coast, the 487 MW SeaMade wind farm will comprise 58 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines.

The turbine components for the project started arriving at the Port of Oostende in March.

Over the coming months, Rotra Vente and its sister vessel Rotra Mare will ship all components for the turbines, including the nacelles, tower parts, and blades, from various sites to the REBO site in Oostende.
