Vestas Nets Another 50 MW Order for Hoa Binh 1 Project in Vietnam

Vestas has secured a 50 MW wind turbine order for the second phase of th Hoa Binh 1 intertidal wind farm in Vietnam.

The wind turbine supplier received an order for the project’s first 50 MW phase in December 2019, which included 13 V150-4.2 MW turbines, with ten of them delivered in 3.8 MW and three in 4 MW operating mode.

For the second phase, Vestas will deliver the same number of turbines with the same output optimisation as for the first phase.

The new order for the project, signed with Phuong Anh Group, also includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. In addition, the service agreement for the first phase, originally signed for a period of ten years, has now been extended to a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

The turbine installation work at the project site, located in the shallow waters off the Hòa Bình district in Bạc Liêu Province, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021.

According to Vestas, this contract marks its eighth intertidal project in the Vietnam and over 1 GW of total wind energy projects Vestas wind turbines were chosen for in the country.
