The Optimarin Ballast Systems (OBS) will be installed on Østensjø Rederi’s two commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) and two service operations vessels (SOVs).

The four vessels will be operated by Edda Wind, Østensjø Group’s offshore wind business unit.

The 88.3-metre vessels, to be delivered early 2022 and onwards, will serve as mother ships for wind turbine technicians as they perform commissioning and maintenance work on offshore wind turbines.

Edda Wind has signed a long-term charter agreement with MHI Vestas for one of the SOVs.

Another long-term charter was signed with Ocean Breeze Energy, the operator of the BARD 1 offshore wind farm in Germany, for one of the CSOVs.

The two CSOVs are being built at Astilleros Gondan, and the two SOVs are under construction at Astilleros Balenciaga.
