The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) has launched a GBP 1.5 million funding call for UK companies aimed at boosting the local offshore wind supply chain.

Development grants of between GBP 75,000 and GBP 500,000 are available for capital and operational expenditure on projects that aim to unlock significant growth potential in UK content, jobs and export opportunities.

The grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, with successful proposals demonstrating a long-term business plan and a clear ambition for growth in the sector.

Eligible applicants can request up to GBP 500,000 in a single grant application to cover up to 50% of the total project budget.

This marks OWGP’s largest funding call to date.

“The OWGP is seeking UK companies with transformative plans for growth,” said Martin Whitmarsh , chair of OWGP.

“These new Development Grants can accelerate investment decisions and deliver ambitious development plans for up to eight UK companies. I am looking forward to seeing some exciting proposals that will build on the UK’s world-leading position in offshore wind.”

This latest tranche of funding builds on the GBP 1 million already allocated across three smaller funding competitions launched in the last 12 months.

OWGP funding calls are complemented by business transformation programmes including the Wind Expert Support Toolkit (WEST) and the GBP 1.5 million Sharing in Growth (SiG) programme.
