Under the contract awarded by the joint venture ENGIE Solutions-Iemants, DEME will also supply and install scour protection for the two substations.

Installation of the scour protection and jacket for Hollandse Kust Noord is planned for the second half of 2021, while the topside is expected in the summer of 2022.

The jacket for West Alpha will also be installed during the summer of 2022, with the topside following in 2023.

Hollande Kust Noord will be built by the CrossWind consortium between Shell and Eneco, which won the tender in the summer of 2020. The 759 MW wind farm will comprise 69 Siemens Gamesa 11 MW turbines.

TenneT and the joint venture of ENGIE Solutions and Iemants signed a contract in December 2020 to design, engineer, produce, deliver, transport, and install the Hollandse Kust West Alpha offshore transformer substation..
