The 257 MW offshore wind farm will feature 27 TP-less monopiles, with the towers to be be connected directly to the monopiles. 24Sea will install the monopile monitoring equipment at Steelwind’s fabrication site in Germany and then complete the installation and commissioning of the structural health monitoring setup offshore.

“With our structural health monitoring system in place, we are confident to record the data needed for our data-driven validation of the design in challenging soil conditions and the assessment of the support structures’ integrity. By means of these future assessments the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm has another advantage to be part of the solution to deliver green/blue energy at lower costs”, said Gert De Sitter, co-founder and general manager of 24Sea.

The Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm is located in the Baltic Sea, in the coastal waters of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where 27 Vestas 9.5 MW offshore wind turbines will be installed.
