Ørsted has released an update on its tender qualification system for the upcoming wind turbine procurement for two offshore wind farms in Poland, developed jointly with PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.

The company said it would use the Achilles Utilities Nordics and Central Europe (UNCE) qualification system for procurement, and that it expected to launch the tender for wind turbine supply via this qualification system in week 26 or 27 “using product codes 3.23.6 and the keyword ‘Offshore’”.

Back in February, Ørsted and PGE signed an agreement to form a joint venture for the development, construction and operation of the 1 GW Baltica 3 and 1.5 GW Baltica 2 offshore wind projects, which were awarded Contracts for Difference (CfDs) by the Polish Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) two months later.

PGE, which plans to develop 6.5 GW of offshore wind capacity in the Baltic Sea by 2050, is also developing a third offshore wind project, the 896 MW Baltica 1, expected to be operational after 2030.
