Ming Yang signed a contract to deliver three MySE 3.0MW typhoon-proof turbines for an undisclosed 9 MW offshore wind farm in the Japanese Sea.

Construction will begin in 2022, Ming Yang said.

The company is also developing a local operations team to better provide wind turbine supply and O&M services to customers in Japan.

”With over 2000 turbines operating in typhoon-prone areas, MingYang is well positioned to deliver top-notch typhoon-proof offshore wind turbine solutions based on proven Hybrid Drive technology to capitalize on the abundant high winds in Japan,” Ming Yang said in a social media post.

Earlier this month, Ming Yang signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UK Department for International Trade (DIT) to cooperate on bringing MingYang’s investment plans for the UK’s offshore wind sector to realisation.

In Europe, Ming Yang recently delivered wind turbines for the 30 MW Taranto project, Italy’s first offshore wind farm. The company has also secured the order for a floating offshore wind project in Europe.
