Under the agreement, EOLOS FLS200 technology, which recently achieved Stage 3 rating under the Carbon Trust Offshore Wind Accelerator Roadmap, will be combined with OceanPact’s environmental marine services expertise.

EOLOS will provide OceanPact with the necessary technology and digital services insight for offering wind and metocean measurement services to offshore wind developers, the company said.

The Brazilian company OceanPact will monitor regulatory frame progress as well as establish permanent contact with local stakeholders and build the necessary infrastructure.

In January, the Government of Brazil issued a Decree which enables the identification and assignment of physical spaces and national resources within the country’s inland waters, the territorial sea, the offshore exclusive economic zone, and the continental shelf for the development of offshore wind projects.

According to the decree, Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy will be in charge of carrying out the necessary studies, selecting offshore wind zones, as well as organizing subsequent auctions.
