EEW KHPC will manufacture and deliver a total of 156 pin piles for the two wind farms. The pin plies will be specifically tailored to accommodate the characteristics of Taiwan’s seabed and the conditions of Hai Long wind farms, which are located around 50 kilometres off Taiwan’s west coast, in water depths of up to 55 metres.

”We are very delighted and proud to be selected for the supply of Pin Piles for the prestigious Hai Long Offshore Wind Project. We appreciate the trust put in our fabrication set up in Korea for the APAC region by Hai Long Project. This is another great milestone to further contribute to the Green Energy Transition in Taiwan,” Tsche-Hyun Park, MD of EEW KHPC, said.

Hai Long Offshore Wind, a consortium comprising of the Canada-based independent power producer Northland Power, Yushan Energyfrom Singapore, and Japan’s Mitsui & Co., Ltd., expects to begin construction in 2024 and to commission the wind farms in 2025-2026.

Hai Long’s three separate grid allocations include the 300 MW Hai Long 2a, the 232 MW Hai Long 2b, and the 512 MW Hai Long 3.

”We are very glad to have signed this fabrication contract with EEW KHPC. As Hai Long approaches the start of the construction phase, the signature of this contract marks another key milestone for the project, showcasing Hai Long’s steady progress into construction,” Felipe Montero, Project Director of Hai Long and Head of Northland Power Taiwan, said.

”EEW are one of the most respected suppliers of piles in offshore wind with an outstanding track record. With their very strong set up in the APAC region we are confident they will do an excellent job in delivering the pin piles for Hai Long 2B and 3.”
