The CTV is the second UK-built vessel in the HST Marine fleet, following the delivery of the 25-metre-long HST Ella.

The vessels can carry 12-24 industrial personnel, and its hybrid electric propulsion system cuts fuel consumption by 30 per cent compared to similar CTVs powered by diesel engines, said HST Marine.

Both CTVs were designed by UK naval architect Chartwell Marine and built at UK shipbuilder Diverse Marine on the Isle of Wight.

The HST Frances will also be British crewed for domestic projects.

The ceremony was attended by Nusrat Ghani MP, UK Minister of State (Dept. for Business and Trade and the Cabinet Office), and senior British maritime industry leaders.

HST Marine was acquired by Purus Marine in 2022 which provides CTV and commissioning/service operation vessels (C/SOVs) to its customers and will also be expanding its fleet of hybrid C/SOVs.

Last month, the company ordered four Strat Cat 27 CTVs from Strategic Marine, a shipbuilding company based in Singapore.
