Venterra’s GDG and India’s ABAN Power Form APAC Offshore Wind Partnership

Venterra Group company, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), and India’s ABAN Power have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the development and implementation of offshore wind projects, marine and offshore structures, and related initiatives in India and the Asia-Pacific region.

The GDG and ABAN power partnership will offer an extensive range of essential services grounded in innovation and industry-leading engineering, according to the press release.

The alliance merges two “highly complementary service portfolios from trusted industry brands, enhancing their ability to meet the diverse needs of the evolving offshore energy and infrastructure market”, said Venterra Group.

“Over a year ago, I identified clear priorities to expand the Venterra Group’s presence in India and the Asia-Pacific region. Our partnership with a leading company like ABAN Power perfectly aligns with our strategic vision. This collaboration allows us to combine our extensive experience and bring unmatched expertise to support India’s ambitious clean energy goals,” said Indrasenan Thusyanthan, Venterra Global Offshore Director.

The collaboration underscores a mutual dedication to advancing clean energy solutions and broadening service offerings, particularly within India’s rapidly expanding offshore wind sector.

India has set a target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. At the beginning of 2024, the country launched a tender for the development of offshore wind with a total capacity of 4 GW off the coast of Tamil Nadu.

In regards to other news coming from Venterra Group, the company was recently awarded a contract to provide geophysical and geotechnical services for the Baltica 1 wind farm off the coast of Poland, in collaboration with PGE Group.
