The tender for the Kattegat and Kriegers Flak II offshore wind farms was launched in April 2024. The bid deadline is 1 April 2025.

The winner of the individual tender will have to carry out an environmental impact assessment for the development of the specific offshore wind project.

The Kattegat plan involves installing offshore wind turbines with a minimum capacity of 1,000 MW, though the final capacity will depend on the specific project proposed by the winner of the tender.

The wind turbines will be installed at least 27 kilometres from Anholt, approximately 15 kilometres from Djursland, and about 25 kilometres from the coast in Odsherred Municipality, northwest Zealand.

Expected to be fully operational by the end of 2030, the offshore wind project is planned to be connected to the collective grid in Trige, Jutland.

The Kriegers Flak II plan includes the installation of wind turbines with a minimum capacity of 1,000 MW across both the North and South areas. The final capacity will be determined by the concession winner’s specific project.

According to DEA, the wind turbines will have to be located at least 15 kilometres from both Rødvig, Southeast Zealand, and Møn, while those in Kriegers Flak II (South) must be installed at least 15 kilometres from Møn.

The project is expected to connect to the collective grid through a station in Southeast Zealand and be fully operational by the end of 2030 at the latest.

Recently, DEA also adopted a plan for the North Sea I offshore wind area which comprises two subareas, the first of which has been already put out to tender with three offshore wind sites offered.
