Havfram Keeps Its Fleet Busy with New Contract

Business & Finance

Norway’s Havfram has signed a reservation agreement with an undisclosed client for the transport and installation of next-generation wind turbines.

Installation activities are expected to commence during the first quarter of 2029, with the project carrying on into 2030, the company said.

According to Havfram, the project will be executed with one of the firm’s wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs) currently under construction.

In 2021, Havfram signed a letter of intent with China’s CIMC-Raffles to build a series of next-generation wind turbine installation vessels.

The first WTIV is planned to be delivered in August 2025, followed by the addition of the second vessel in the late fourth quarter of 2025.

In September, Havfram secured two offshore wind contracts in Germany: one with Luxcara for the Waterkant offshore wind farm and another with the Vattenfall and BASF partnership for the Nordlicht offshore wind farm cluster.
