According to the companies, the goal is to collaborate and share information to explore projects and technologies designed to strengthen local capacity for offshore wind energy.

The collaboration involves various studies and efforts that range from site prospecting to the decommissioning of offshore wind turbines, including supply chain evaluations and analyses of technological and logistical pathways in the industry.

The agreement, which will initially run for five years, was made official in São Paulo, at Brazil Windpower.

In terms of other recent news from Mingyang, the Chinese company signed a contract with Renexia for the front-end engineering design (FEED) of the 2.8 GW Med Wind floating offshore wind project in Italy.

Also, the company recently installed what they claimed to be the world’s largest single-capacity floating wind platform, OceanX, at the Qingzhou IV offshore wind farm in Yangjiang, Guangdong, China.

Regarding ISI-ER, the Brazilian institute announced in April that it expects to receive a licence for a pilot offshore wind project in Rio Grande do Norte in the second half of 2024.
