The last components for Eolink’s 5 MW floating offshore wind turbine have arrived at the Port of Brest in France.

The first components for the floating offshore wind turbine, which will be installed at the French SEM-REV test site off the coast of Le Croisic, arrived at the port in February this year.

The floater, part of the France-Atlantique Project, will measure 52 metres on each side and rise to a towering height of 150 metres.

Once the assembly is finalised, the wind turbine will be towed to the SEM-REV site, where it will be connected to the grid and will supply local and carbon-free electricity to 6,500 people, according to Eolink.

The commissioning of the 5 MW unit is scheduled for Spring 2025.
