Taylor Hopkinson has been awarded a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) surveillance contract for the Inch Cape offshore wind farm in Scotland.
Taylor Hopkinson will support the fabrication and construction of Scotland’s 1.1 GW Inch Cape offshore wind farm, being jointly developed by Red Rock Renewables and ESB.
The company and Brunel’s global presence spans all of the key fabrication yard locations for the offshore wind project, said Taylor Hopkinson.
The company has supplied engineering, consenting, and development specialists on the project since 2017 and will continue to do so throughout its current phase of work, including manufacturing, construction, offshore installation, and commissioning.
“We are delighted to further support Inch Cape beyond financial close. In partnership with Brunel, this is now our 7th consecutive offshore wind farm on which we have delivered QA/QC services for UK/European clients fabricating components in China,” said Neil Brown , managing director of offshore wind at TH.
The Inch Cape offshore wind farm is located 15 kilometres off the Angus coast in the North Sea.
Offshore construction is planned to commence in the second quarter of 2025, with the start of the installation of the export cables, followed by the installation of the offshore substation. The first power is expected in late 2026, with a commercial operation date in 2027.
Once operational, the project, which will comprise Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines , will generate almost 5 TWh of renewable energy each year, according to the developer.
