Ørsted and Skyborn Renewables have completed the installation of all 65 wind turbines at the 704 MW Revolution Wind offshore wind farm in the US.

“Revolution Wind has successfully completed the installation of the project's 65 wind turbines. Commissioning activities continue across the project, with safety as the top priority. Revolution Wind continues to progress toward an anticipated commercial operation date later this year”, an Ørsted spokesperson said in a statement to offshoreWIND.biz.

“Having delivered its first power to New England’s grid this spring, the project continues to scale up generation. Once fully operational, Revolution Wind is expected to produce enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 350,000 New England homes, strengthening the region’s supply of affordable, reliable energy.”

The first of the 65 Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200 DD turbines was installed in September 2024, several months after the first foundation was installed.

By August 2025, all foundations and 45 turbines had been installed, and the project was approximately 80 per cent complete. Installation was affected by damage to a leg of one of the installation vessels in June 2025, which required five weeks of inspection and repairs. A delay in construction of the onshore substation had also pushed the expected commercial operation date from 2025 to the second half of 2026.
