Sven Utermöhlen, former CEO of RWE Offshore Wind, has joined the Board of Directors of Danish offshore vessel operator Esvagt.
Esvagt announced the appointment in a social media post on 21 October, welcoming Utermöhlen’s two decades of experience in offshore wind as the company continues to develop its maritime services for the sector.
Utermöhlen left RWE on 30 September after deciding not to renew his contract. He had led RWE’s offshore wind business as CEO since January 2023, having previously held senior operational roles in the company’s offshore wind division.
RWE announced in May that Tobias Keitel, then Chief Technology Officer, would succeed Utermöhlen as CEO from 1 October, with Utermöhlen to continue advising RWE’s offshore wind business for six to twelve months following his departure.
Esvagt provides vessel-based services to the offshore wind industry, including service operation vessels (SOVs), crew transfer and personnel transfer services, and offshore support. The company said Utermöhlen’s experience and perspective would support its continued growth in maritime solutions for offshore wind.
