Seaway7 has completed the final inner-array cable lay at the 1.4 GW East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in the UK.
Seaway7's teams installed 95 inner-array cables, totalling more than 240 kilometres of cable loaded, laid and pulled into the foundations at the site.
The achievement forms part of Seaway7’s wider scope on East Anglia Three, encompassing the foundations and inner-array cables for the project, and follows the completion of installation of all 95 monopile foundations and transition pieces earlier this year.
With cable lay now complete, testing, termination and trenching activities continue as we progress the remaining work towards completion of Seaway7’s full project scope.
The GBP 4 billion (around EUR 4.7 billion) East Anglia Three project, owned and developed by ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar, will comprise 95 Siemens Gamesa 14+ MW wind turbines and is the first UK offshore wind project to feature 115-metre blades.
Wind turbine installation, which started in April, is also under way and is expected to be completed this year, with East Anglia Three scheduled to become fully operational by the end of 2026.
