Norther is currently being built within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Belgium, approximately 23 kilometers from the port of Zeebrugge.

The 370MW wind farm consists of 44 MHI Vestas 8.4MW wind turbines and one Offshore High Voltage Substation (OHVS). The average depth at the site is maximum LAT – 33 metres.

FoundOcean was subcontracted by Van Oord, who in turn had been appointed as the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation Contractor, for the Balance of Plant, by Norther BV.

The scope of work awarded to FoundOcean consisted of the grouting of all 45 monopile/transition pieces, as well as the grouting of the j-tube cage which was installed on the OHVS.

FoundOcean mobilised a complete grout spread, for the delivery and QA testing of the material, as well as a fleet of interchangeable on- and off-shore material storage silos. Offshore grouting operations were completed during November 2018, FoundOcean said.
