TIPC Unites with Japanese for Offshore Wind Safety

Taiwan International Ports Corp (TIPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japanese Nissui Marine Kogyo (NMK) to cooperate on offshore wind safety training.

Under the deal, the two parties said they will work together to cultivate international talent for the sector by mutual exchanges, as well as focus on improving the global competitiveness of Taiwan’s talents.

According to TIPC, the Taiwan Wind Energy Training center will provide basic safety training and certification services, such as first aid, manual operation, fire awareness, high altitude operation and sea life survival.

The Taiwanese company said it also plans to provide helicopter water escape training, advanced technical training and custom-made training services for offshore wind turbines.

The parties added that the announcement comes as both Japan and Taiwan have a developing offshore wind sector and professional talents are the foundation for their respective success.
