Site Investigation Work Awarded for 3.5 GW Vietnamese Offshore Wind Farm

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), Asia Petroleum Energy, and Novasia Energy, the joint developers of the 3.5 GW La Gan offshore wind farm in Vietnam, have signed two site investigation contracts.

The contracts, worth approximately USD 5 million, cover the Floating LiDAR and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) scope.

The Floating LiDAR contract was awarded to AXYS Technologies, and the ESIA contract to NIRAS Group, according to the local media.

The La Gan offshore wind farm is located off the coast of the Binh Thuan province.

The project, valued at around USD 10 billion, is planned to be built in two phases with the first phase of up to 600 MW in capacity expected to be operational by 2024.

The remaining capacity is scheduled to be built out between 2026 and 2030.
