Purchasing related to the project has already started, while the installation and outfitting are set to kick-start in January and actively be carried out starting from March.

“I am proud that ProCon Wind Energy and Bladt Industries once again are contributing to the growing offshore wind market together. Our latest project cooperation on Danish Kriegers Flak was a success and we will of course build on this experience,” said ProCon CEO Claus Søgaard Poulsen.

“Credit must also be given to the teams of Bladt Industries and ProCon who managed to get the deal in place despite of Covid-19. It goes to show how effective a good dialogue and virtual meetings can be.”

Kaskasi will comprise 38 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD Flex turbines, each of which will have a capacity of close to 9 MW.

Offshore construction is expected to begin in autumn 2021 some 35km north of the island of Heligoland, with project commissioning expected in summer 2022.

Bladt is in charge of delivering 38 monopiles and transition pieces for the project’s turbines, as well as the construction of the offshore substation, including its transition piece and monopile.
