The SMST gangway (Telescopic Access Bridge L-Series) combined with a tower and height adjustment could contribute to the operational performance of the WindKeeper vessels and guarantee safe and comfortable offshore crossing for technicians, SMST said.

To increase the operational flexibility, the SMST motion-compensated gangway is equipped with a lifting winch for handling cargo up to 4,000kg. This combination of walk-to-work and lifting functions provides great advantage in terms of saving deck space and weight on board, the Dutch company said.

The SMST mission equipment will be installed on board at the end of 2024.

Norway-headquartered GC Rieber Shipping placed an SOV order at Cemre Shipyard in October last year.

The WindKeeper SOVs are based on small waterplane area twin hull (SWATH) methodology and design, which offers the offshore wind market improved operability, ultra-low fuel consumption, and the option of fully electric operations in the field, according to GC Rieber.

The order includes options for further two vessels with the first SOV planned to be delivered in the first quarter of 2025.
