OEG Expands APAC Fleet with New CTV Order

Business & Finance

OEG Renewables has inked a contract with Strategic Marine for the order of a newbuild crew transfer vessel (CTV) that will support the company’s operations in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

The vessel, due to be named Wey Feng, is a BMT-designed aluminium catamaran and will be the fourth StratCat 27 ship built by Strategic Marine to join the OEG Renewables fleet.

The 27-metre-long CTV will be powered by two Caterpillar C32 1450hp marine engines and will have a fuel capacity of 35,000 litres.

The vessel will be able to accommodate up to 24 technicians and is scheduled for delivery in Taiwan in February 2025, where it will support OEG Renewables’ ongoing projects in the region.

“Our operations in the Asia Pacific region are expanding rapidly and we’re experiencing a high demand for our vessel provision services as a result. OEG Renewables supports the development of offshore wind projects throughout Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, utilising our experienced personnel and highly efficient fleet of vessels to successfully deliver a range of work scopes”, said Eric Briar, Managing Director at OEG Renewables.

OEG Renewables was launched in June last year. The company’s services include project management, engineering, installation, and inspection and maintenance of offshore wind farms. The division also provides a range of equipment for offshore wind operations, including vessels, temporary power, communications, welfare, as well as logistics equipment and facilities from its asset fleet.
