Delmar Adds Lankhorst to Culzean Floating Wind Team

Business & Finance

Lankhorst Offshore has been awarded a contract by Delmar Systems to supply mooring lines to Archer Wind for their work on TotalEnergies’ Culzean floating wind project offshore Aberdeen, Scotland.

Delmar Systems will provide the total mooring solution for the floating wind turbine, which will moor the modular, light, semi-submersible floater hull, designed by Ocergy, to the seabed.

The Lankhorst Cabral 512 polyester mooring lines will be deployed at the site in a water depth of 90 metres.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the mooring lines contract for this innovative floating wind energy project. With the introduction of Cabral 512 mooring lines and the new LankoShield cut-resistant jacket, we are demonstrating our continued commitment to the development of offshore wind energy globally,” said Neil Schulz, Global Sales Director – Renewable Energy, Lankhorst Offshore.

Located in the central North Sea, around 222 kilometres east from Aberdeen, the Culzean floater is being built, installed, and commissioned by the EPCIC contractor Archer Wind, on behalf of their end client TotalEnergies.

The 3 MW wind turbine is a pilot project designed to produce electricity for the nearby Culzean gas platform via a two-kilometre export cable.
