EDF Invites Tenders for Saint Nazaire Offshore Windfarm

EDF Enérgies Nouvelles has invited tenders for two jobs at the Saint Nazaire Offshore Windfarm site located on the French coast (Pays de la Loire – Loire Atlantique).

The first job is to conduct an offshore geotechnical campaign. The campaign will include drilling shallow geotechnical boreholes using a rotary coring system to typically 2m below the seabed. This scope will consist of 30 – 80 shallow geotechnical boreholes.

The second tender relates to  performing an offshore geophysical assessment survey (BAS) for inter-array cables at the site that will include seismic refraction and potentially seabed survey and other soil profiling means. The estimated inter-array cable length to investigate is approximately 110km.

Last year in April, EDF and Alstom  won three of five batches of the 10 billion-euro ($13.3 billion) worth contract for the development of French offshore wind farms.
