Morecambe and Lunesdale MP Praises Coastguard and Lifeboat Crews

David Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, has said that a recent accident involving a ship and a wind turbine at Walney caused him “great concern” and has praised the coastguard and lifeboat crews.

Mr. Morris, who is also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Coastal and Marine group, said:

“It causes me great concern that a ship has collided with a wind turbine. For a long time I have said that turbines should be situated well away from shipping lanes. It was just a matter of time until an incident like this, thankfully nobody has been injured.

“Thank you to the Liverpool coastguard and the lifeboat crews who do a magnificent job often in challenging conditions as was the case on Thursday morning.”
