UXO Survey Begins at Beatrice OWF Site

R&D

An unexploded ordnance (UXO) survey is taking place this month (January 2015) at the Beatrice offshore wind farm site.

The survey is being carried out ahead of planned geotechnical surveys, to identify seabed ground conditions and the presence or absence of seabed unexploded ordnance for the nearshore extent of the offshore export cable route.

Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) is a joint project between SSE (50%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP; 25%) and Repsol (25%). The project, located in the Outer Moray Firth, could generate up to 664MW of renewable energy.
