Installation of foundations and wind turbines at the Kentish Flats Extension will start on May 1, subject to weather conditions.

On behalf of Vattenfall, GeoSea’s offshore wind installation vessel Neptune will be carrying out installation works approximately 8.5 to 13 km north of Herne Bay and Whitstable in Kent.

The installation will take place on commencement of favourable sea conditions and will continue until the end of August, weather permitting.

Two tug vessels will be working alongside Neptune, Norne and Sea Echo.

Kentish Flats Extension, with an installed capacity of 49.5MW, will be capable of generating enough power in a year to meet the equivalent annual electricity demand of 35,000 households.
