Blue Water Shipping Handles 420 Tons of Siemens’ Prototype

Business & Finance

Following the recent news about Siemens 7MW turbine being installed in Østerild for field testing, Blue Water Shipping reported that it had been in charge of the loading, shipping and discharging of the new turbine.

The company handled nearly 420 tons of cargo with the largest unit weighing 155 tons. The units were discharged by combining the lifting capacity of two large mobile cranes.

“The discharge was characterized by a good cooperation between the ship’s crew, crane operators, riggers and the haulier. This is our second transport to/from Hanstholm for Siemens Wind Power within the recent year. Last year, we shipped the predecessor, SWT 6.0, to Esbjerg,” the company said.
