France Calls for Floating Wind Demonstration Project Proposals

Authorities

French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) has issued a call for proposals for floating offshore wind, wave and tidal projects.

ADEME aims to fund demonstration projects and testing of technological components of renewable energy systems.

The call comprises three parts:

– Implementation of innovative demonstration units for tidal and wave power sector. Unit demonstrator projects include demonstration of a system at a scale representing future operating conditions.

– Demonstration of critical technological components for the development of renewable energies at sea, which are prerequisites for the deployment of large-scale renewable marine energy systems. The call for these projects is aimed at technological components dedicated to floating wind, marine tidal, and wave power technologies.

– Installation of pilot tidal energy farm in a river or estuary, comprising turbines developed specially for these operating conditions.

Proposals can be submitted by January 25, 2016, and September 19, 2016. The final deadline for the submission of project proposals is March 20, 2017.
