The vessel, a DP2, SPS-coded, 68-metre SSV, was delivered during a short ceremony held at the shipyard on 13 April 2016.

VOS Star left the shipyard on 17 April, at the start of her journey to the North Sea. After arrival in Europe, she will be further outfitted and available during this year’s subsea season. She will be operated by Vroon Offshore Services Den Helder.

Her sister vessel, VOS Sugar, was delivered to Vroon earlier this year and will be christened in a ceremony to be held later this week in IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

VOS Sugar and VOS Star form a part of the expansion of Vroon’s SSV fleet into a variety of offshore sub-segments, including wind farm support, walk-to-work and IRM operations.
