Chevalier Floatels informed today that it had executed three logistics contracts for TenneT this summer, after being chosen by Global Renewables Shipbrokers (GRS) on behalf of the transmission system operator (TSO) to support scheduled summer campaigns in Germany.

The company’s recently upgraded vessels, DP Gezina and DP Galyna, were employed to provide accommodation and transfer for TenneT’s personnel at HelWin alpha, HelWin beta and SylWin alpha.

On both HelWin platforms, TenneT and its contractors carried out shutdown and maintenance works, which were supported by DP Gezina.

DP Galyna was deployed at the SylWin alpha site, as well as the Sandbank offshore substation, where subsea cables had to be pulled in and connected.

“Thanks to the assistance of GRS, Chevalier Floatels secured the first contract with TenneT. However seeing the performance of the entire company, both on the vessel and in the office, TenneT decided to use the vessels also for two other projects. The projects offered Chevalier Floatels the opportunity to prove the effectiveness of the recent upgrades,” Chevalier Floatels said in a press release.

This was the first time TenneT employed a walk-to-work vessel, as the TSO previously used jack-up vessels or logistics subcontractors on similar projects.
