A2SEA’s jack-up vessel Sea Installer has arrived to Belfast Harbour, the load out port for DONG Energy’s 258MW Burbo Bank Extension project, and is currently loading components which will make up the first four of the wind farm’s 32 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines.

Sea Installer is expected to sail out from the Belfast Harbour on the night of the 3 September, weather permitting.

A2SEA plans to install the first turbine, which will make their debut on Burbo Bank Extension site some 8 kilometres off the coast in Liverpool Bay, by the end of this week or early next week.

The vessel is expected to install all 32 turbines at the site by the end of 2016, weather depending.

Judging by the image provided by A2SEA, Mother Nature seems to have given her stamp of approval to the project.

The Burbo Bank Extension is being developed by Burbo Bank Extension Ltd which is owned by DONG Energy Wind Power (50%), PKA (25%) and Kirkbi A/S (25%).

The wind farm is an addition to the operational 90MW Burbo Bank and is expected to be commissioned in 2017.
