The engineering company has been looking for a waterside base to support its expansion plans in the North East and selected Port of Blyth as the location from which the TSG will be providing support services to vessels operating in the North Sea and beyond.

Managing Director of TSG Marine, Allan Syme said: “The North East currently has a real opportunity to establish itself as a key cost effective player in terms of specialist port facilities. At TSG Marine we recognise that the best way to realise that opportunity is to partner with the local infrastructure which offers access to a number of high quality fabricators and other specialist support companies.”

Martin Lawlor, Chief Executive of Port of Blyth, said: “Welcoming a company as in-demand as TSG Marine to the Port of Blyth – and to our Wimbourne Quay terminal in particular – is another great milestone in our development as an offshore energy supply base. The infrastructure, partnerships and environment we’re building here is a formula for growth and innovation in the offshore sector.”

The Port reported record financial figures earlier this year driven largely by a surge in offshore related activities. In June, EDF Energy Renewables chose the Port of Blyth as a mobilisation and operations & maintenance base for the Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstration Project.
