In November 2015, GeoSea won a EUR 340 million contract to design, fabricate and install 56 steel monopile foundations for the Galloper project and subcontracted Sif Group and Smulders to produce the monopiles and transition pieces.

In September 2016, Sif assembled the first monopile for the project in its new assembly facility at Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam.

The scour protection works for the foundations will be undertaken by Tideway, GeoSea’s sister company, both being part of the DEME Group.

The Galloper offshore wind farm, located some 27 km off the Suffolk coast, will feature 56 Siemens’ 6MW wind turbines and is expected to be fully operational in 2018.
