Techplus Moves into OrbisEnergy

Business & Finance

Techplus, a specialist engineering personnel company for energy and construction sectors, has moved into the offshore renewable energy hub OrbisEnergy at Lowestoft.

Techplus, launched in March 2017, has set its sights on increasing its range of services in 2018, and sees moving into the hub as beneficial for the company’s future.

Commercial Director Ian Dawson said: “The need for new premises became clear and OrbisEnergy is ideal – because we share the building with a mix of related energy and offshore engineering companies. With access to business support and networking, and scope to expand in the future, it is a great place for start-ups and SMES to be.”

Currently, OrbisEnergy is home to 62 business tenants which range from major wind farm developers such as SSE and ScottishPower Renewables, to jack-up, logistics, recruitment and other support companies.

OrbisEnergy, opened in 2008, is an industry incubator owned by Suffolk County Council and managed by enterprise agency Nwes. The hub is close to a number of developing offshore wind farms.
