The agreement is valid for three years and will support the drive towards a more developed Taiwanese offshore wind market.

In July 2013, K2 Management opened an office in Taiwan in order to supply its support, knowledge and experience to the country’s wind industry.

Taiwan is starting on a process of replacing nuclear power generation with offshore wind, and according to K2 Management, the offshore wind target for 2025 is now raised from 3GW to 5.5GW. In May 2017, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs issued a first ever-commercial operating license for an offshore wind farm in the country.
