Esvagt Takes Delivery of New SOV Destined for Merkur

Esvagt has taken delivery of the new Service Operation Vessel (SOV) Esvagt Dana, which will be deployed at the Merkur offshore wind farm.

Delivered by Zamakona Shipyard in Bilbao, Spain, the new SOV will enter charter over the summer, Esvagt said.

Once chartered, Esvagt Dana will be assigned to GE for the Merkur offshore wind project located in the German North Sea.

Situated some 45km north of the island of Borkum, Merkur will comprise 66 GE Haliade 6MW turbines.

The 396MW wind farm is being developed by Merkur Offshore GmbH, a joint venture between Partners Group, InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Concessions and Coriolis.

It is scheduled for full commissioning in 2019.
