According to the Danish company, the close cooperation between Engels and Vis over the last four years led to a successful market entry in the Netherlands, where Ørsted won the tender to develop the Borssele I & II offshore wind farm.

With the new position, Engels said his goals include successfully realizing the Borssele I & II project, focusing on further growth in the Netherlands and other countries in Western Europe, as well as working on the further expansion of the internal organization to enable further growth.

“Ørsted has made a successful start in the Netherlands under Jasper’s leadership. Jasper put Ørsted on the map and ensured excellent contacts with administrators, politicians and civil servants and the offshore wind industry. Apart from those milestones, I also look back on years of wonderful cooperation,” said Engels.

Jasper Vis, who held the position of Country Manager for the Netherlands for six years, is leaving the company.

“As a global market leader in offshore wind, Ørsted has now also made a name for itself in the Dutch market. We are well on track with the preparations and activities for our wind farm Borssele 1 + 2. After six years, it is time for me to take a next step,” Vis said.

“l have thoroughly enjoyed working with Steven in recent years. I am confident that he will lead Ørsted in the Netherlands in an excellent way and will also bring the organization in Western Europe to the next level.”
