BLG and WeserWind Sign Offshore Logistics Contract (Germany)22

On 1 February, WeserWind GmbH Offshore Construction Georgsmarienhütte has signed an offshore logistics contract with BLG in Bremerhaven. WeserWind is engaged internationally in the development and production of foundation structures and substation platforms for offshore wind turbines.

BLG offers fully-integrated logistics solutions applied in coordination of wind turbine supply, ranging from procurement through production to installation at sea.

BLG has been tasked by WeserWind with the temporary storage of up to 900 tons of heavy foundation structures for the wind farm “Borkum West II” and “Global Tech I” on a specially adapted area of the terminal in Bremerhaven. The scope of services includes the transportation of tripods with the new heavy-duty pontoon OFFSHORE BHV 1 from Fischereihafen to ABC peninsula in Kaiserhafen. The tripods will be temporarily stored there until loaded onto the ship builders for installation at sea.
