UK: Mantsbrite Attends Seawork Event

As a leading distributor of marine equipment for a number of international electronic navigation product manufacturers, Mantsbrite has attended Seawork International in Southampton on 22-24 May [Stand number A173] which attracted a significant number of visitors from companies which are involved in the UK offshore renewable energy supply chain.

“There has been a significant increase in equipment sales to such companies over the last twelve months, particularly to businesses which are supplying personnel transfer vessels to offshore wind farm developers and operators,” said Mantsbrite Managing Director, David Ash.

“The method of working in the offshore wind sector differs greatly from oil and gas industry insofar as the transfer of personnel, parts and equipment from shore to sea tends to take place on a daily basis. This is resulting in the need for a greater number of vessels which in turn is creating an increased demand for electronic navigation products and systems.

A number of Mantsbrite customers have also be exhibited at Seawork International 2012. Based in North Norfolk, Tidal Transit has recently invested in two state-of-the-art 20 metre support vessels to transport wind farm construction workers and maintenance crew out into the Greater Wash and Southern North Sea Energy zones. Both vessels are equipped with a sophisticated navigation system supplied by Mantsbrite using Koden, Lorenz and ComNav equipment.

Essex-based Blyth Workcats specialises in designing and building catamarans for commercial operators across a range of international industries. Two of its craft, the Blyth 17 metre and the Blyth 14 metre has displayed at Seawork. Mantsbrite and its dealer, R&J Marine, have supplied Koden equipment for both vessels.

The Mantsbrite team, together with staff from its dealer, Greenham Regis in Poole, Dorset, were on hand throughout the event discussing and demonstrating equipment from manufacturers including AMEC, ComNav, Cristec, ENAG, Interphase Technologies, Koden Electronics, Lorenz, Navicom and North Invent.

Mantsbrite, which was established in 1964, has a 175-strong dealer network throughout the UK and Ireland which supplies navigation equipment and systems to the leisure, fishing and commercial sectors of the marine industry.
