USA: Winter Street Centre Hosts Tide Mill Institute Conference

Winter Street Centre in Bath hosted the 8th annual Tide Mill Institute conference, writes the Times Record.

More than 100 people attended the conference, which explored the history of tide mills as well as potential for the tidal energy.

Conference organiser, Bud Warren, said: “There is probably nowhere in the world where there is so much knowledge and background on the subject of tidal energy than right here in this room.”

Namely, Winnegance was home for one of the largest tidal saw mills ever to be built in this area.

Jerry Provencher, of Bath, said: “We have hydro here, and we’re not making very good use of it. My perspective is, how can we use this information going forward? I’d like to see a lot of smaller inputs into the grid.”
