Maryland Board of Public Works Approves Contract for Offshore Wind Survey (USA)

Maryland Board of Public Works has approved a contract with Coastal Planning & Engineering Inc. to carry out a high-resolution geophysical survey off Ocean City. The survey is related to offshore wind development in the area.

The contract, worth USD 3.3 million, will be financed from the USD 30 million that the state received last year in a settlement agreement with Exelon Corp. in its bid to take over Baltimore’s Constellation Energy, according to The Associated Press.

Governor O’Malley is expected to reintroduce an offshore wind bill this year, after being rejected by the General Assembly two times so far.
