DONG Energy Officially Inaugurates New Premises at Port of Esbjerg (Denmark)

Ports & Logistics

The canteen and the reception area were full of guests when DONG Energy’s new premises centrally located at the port of Esbjerg were officially inaugurated on Thursday 25 August. Flemming Horn Nielsen, newly appointed country manager of E&P Denmark in the business unit Exploration & Production which explores and produces oil and gas, held the official inauguration speech:

When we hear Danish politicians say that the Danish oil adventure in the North Sea is on the decline, they are certainly not talking about DONG Energy’s fields. On the contrary, in the coming five to six years, we face a quadrupling of the oil and gas production in the Danish sector of the North Sea and naturally, this will result in more activities and will require more employees here in Esbjerg.”

New fields to start producing

The growth will come from multiple sources, eg oil and gas production in the Siri field and the fields surrounding the Siri field will be developed continuously. Also, new fields are on the way:

In the years to come, we will develop several interesting fields on the Danish shelf, including the Hejre field which is being developed and is expected to start producing in 2015, and also Solsort which we expect to develop afterwards. Further on, we have great expectations to the Svane fieltd,” says Flemming Horn Nielsen.

The new premises accommodate employees from two different business units: E&P, which explores and produces natural gas and oil and Renewables, which is market leader within offshore wind power.
