The Netherlands: Arabs to Invest Billions in North Sea Wind Farm

Taqa state of the Abu Dhabi Emirate is about to become a majority shareholder in a massive wind farm in the North Sea.

According to De Telegraaf, after a difficult search for money, Arabs are willing to invest billions of dollars in the offshore wind farm, though the move came seven months after the intended deadline.

This will probably save the big project, as the German contractor Bard was facing financial difficulties earlier.

The construction of the offshore wind farm is expected to start next year. It will comprise 150 wind turbines, each 133 meters high, and it will be located north of Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.
